Why is Quality so Important to us?

Why are we telling you this? Because we want to make it clear that our Neem powder is pure and safe for consumption! For other companies manufacturing Neem powder or Neem capsules, the scenario could be quite different. Let us explain briefly:

How other companies do it: Neem from India

Neem from middlemen:
Many companies source their Neem from India through middlemen. Often, women are hired to harvest Neem leaves. Since they are paid per kilogram, the focus here is on quantity over quality. In other words, the condition of the Neem leaves is not a priority.

Uncertain raw material source & processing:
Moreover, the leaves are wild-harvested, meaning women do not harvest the leaves in the fields but wherever the trees happen to grow. The leaves could be picked from roadside trees and exposed to all kinds of contamination. The Neem leaves are then handed over to the contractors who process the leaves – how and under what quality standards is unknown. These are then purchased by companies and resold to end consumers in the form of Neem powder or capsules.

Questionable quality of alleged pure Neem leaf powder:
The Neem powder, which may contain inferior Neem leaves or other substances, is often muddy to greenish-brown, indicating lower quality.

Vs. how reeleef does it: Neem from Paraguay

Controlled in-house cultivation:
With us, it's different - from growing seedlings to processing leaves, everything happens on our certified organic farm, and every step is under our control. Thus, we are independent of middlemen and can guarantee high quality in our Neem products.

Fair working conditions & emphasis on social development:
The people working on-site, responsible for harvesting the leaves and processing them into powder, are paid well above minimum wage. On top of this they receive free housing and food, social security benefits, and can live with their families on site, where everyone can attend school free of charge. Higher quality and better living starts from the seed and goes through our employees all the way to you.

Our Neem Nursery in Paraguay

From harvesting the seeds to nurturing and planting the seedlings in the fields, everything is meticulously documented on our farm in Paraguay. This allows us to trace each step and ensure the high quality of our raw materials. Here, we provide an overview of the cultivation process of our plants.

  • Close-up of our fully grown neem plant, you can see the green leaves, fruits, branches and twigs of the neem tree.

When the Neem trees are large enough and bear fruits, they are harvested.

  • The small neem plants are germinated from the seeds of the neem fruit in the soil.

The seeds of the fruits are then planted in small containers and nurtured in our nursery within a protected environment, shielded from the sun. After a few days, seedlings begin to develop.

  • The small neem plants have their first leaves and are placed in rectangular containers in the soil.

Once they form leaves, they are transplanted into larger containers and nurtured until they reach three months of age.

  • A farm worker in a T-shirt and baseball cap loads the small neem plants onto the trailer for onward transportation to the field.

Now they are large enough to be planted on the farm. They are transported to the field on trailers.

  • The agricultural machine drills a hole in the grass-covered soil of tje field with a metal drill.

On-site, holes are drilled into the soil by a tractor equipped with a drilling machine and a GPS to ensure each tree has plenty of space and is in a nice row

the trees are watered for their first year until their roots are deep enough.

  • A man with a blue helmet stands in front of the facade of our wooden drying boxes, which we use to dry the leaves of the neem plant.

After thorough washing, Neem leaves are delicately dried for two days in custom boxes to preserve their valuable active ingredients.
